Vocational Training for Young Architects 2009-2013

bemutato_tablo

The subject of the programme called ’Vocational Training of Young Architects’ was trainings realized at architectural firms of foreign countries. The project took place between 2009 and 2013 as part of four separate Leonardo da Vinci mobility projects. The main goals were the following:

Organizing vocational trainings for young, graduated architects in several countries of the EU // gathering practical experiences during the training: getting to know the methods and practices of work, especially the differencies in approach, in a wider sense the architectural culture and the system of construction (regulations, etc.) of the host country // getting to know the steps of architectural projects in the host organizations, architectural offices, taking part in these projects or in the parts of these projects // communicating at the host organizations, teamwork in foreign language – may it be the language of the host country or one of the international languages -, developing the ability of communication and practicing the language of profession // getting to know the environment and the tools of the host office, becoming aquainted with new computer programmes for design and method of making models of the building or environment under design process // sharing work experiences with a wide range of people through publicing complex reports about the vocational trainings.

Gathering the above mentioned experiences helps the development of approaches and also working methods of design at home. The programme also helps to discover the valuable aspects of design methods used in Hungary. It is the long-term and general goal of the project – which is also one of the main object of our association – to raise the standard of the national architectural culture. Our hope is that young architects enrich themselves with this short outlook both culturally and professionally, and this development can give good and fresh impulses to the Hungarian architecture.
